Senior Commodity Manager

Job Description

The Global Supply Management - Manufacturing Automation GSM-MA team is responsible for Supply Chain Management of equipment and factory automation software supplier products and services in support of Intel's Technology Development TD and High Volume Manufacturing needs. The Commodity Manager for GSM-MA is responsible for the overall strategic management of the supplier account from strategic sourcing activities, to initial supplier selection, through development, into high volume manufacturing HVM, and long-term sustaining support.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

-Responsible for overall supplier relationship and developing supplier management strategies and aligning supplier roadmaps with partners and internal customers

-Creating and driving the implementation of strategic supplier initiatives, which includes identifying and leading competitive sourcing opportunities

-Develop and execute negotiation plans for software contracts and pricing. Benchmarks costs and prices, ensuring affordability targets understood and met

-Leading supplier negotiations to achieve Intel's immediate and long-term technology, affordability, and velocity requirements

-Acting as the Intel single point of responsibility for all commercial activities and communication with a given supplier, which includes Supplier escalation ownership

-Driving Supplier performance requirements, priorities, and Intel business strategies as it relates to the Supplier


-Bachelor's degree
-6+ years' experience in commodity management
-Skilled at developing & leveraging effective business partnerships at all levels in the organization
-Solid analytical skills and able to engage with suppliers regarding financials and business indicators
-Thorough knowledge of commercial/business processes/systems in own area, including commercial processes, selections, negotiations, benchmarking, with working knowledge of procurement policies and contract law
-Knowledge of software licensing and maintenance procurement & negotiation best practices
-Ability to deliver results in ambiguous situations with experience working in a flexible team environment & has a record of self-directed performance
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills proficient in upward communication with excellent consensus building skills and ability to interface with multi-functional groups at multiple levels
-Ability to identify and influence a diverse set of stakeholders and customers across Intel worldwide
-Engage in small-medium scope selection activities from a commercial perspective
-Ability to successfully manage/drive multiple commercial projects/initiatives
-Understanding of customer's existing business processes and proactively works with customer to define the business problem and explore options for improved business solutions
-Consistently participates in or leads effective commercial teams and groups with minimal manager direction

-Master’s in Business Administration
-Strategic supply chain management experience
-Prior software automation and manufacturing experience
