Perceptual Computing Technical Sales Engineer

Job Description

This position is for a Technical Sales Engineer, focusing on driving New Technology Group sales. The focus of this role is to grow our Perceptual Computing Group SoC and Platform business and to help our customers to best take advantage of our latest architectures and technologies. This person should have an understanding of the hardware and software ecosystems in the area of Drones, AR/VR , Robotics and Home Peripherals. He/ she should have/develop deep understanding of industry-leading computing systems that integrate senses into the Robot/VR and drone devices, raise the skills of the technical field community, and drive customer requirements into the division through the planning processes. This person will have to work closely with all divisions of the Perceptual Computing Group, and will also partner with other NTG organizations.  

What you’ll do:

The successful candidate will work closely with the field sales teams regional sales, industry sales and global account team as the technical sales expert and contribute actively to developing and scaling new customer relationships, aid in executing to and providing input into the segment strategy and drive results for the NTG business unit. The role is focused foremost on qualified design win activities and works as part of a sales team across a number of key areas, including those that follow.

  • Delivering detailed product presentations and platform solutions.
  • Acting as an architectural resource to select field teams in key platform and solution areas, as well as a resource on key competitive advantages and advanced technologies.
  • Further, at an ingredient and solution level, to act as a resource for software ingredients, tools and how they differentiate Intel. This also includes driving and presenting key platform demos where appropriate.
  • And, very importantly, understanding and developing close relationships with related ecosystem ingredients and support hardware and software. Reaching out for, understanding, and reporting on both customer and competitive trends, along with key customer requirements, is key. As well as defining and driving key product and platform requirements to attain the best possible outcome for both Intel and the customer, including driving the voice of the customer into product planning, and orchestrating and escalating key related issues through appropriate venues.


  • The NTG TSE candidate should have a BSEE/BSCE/BSCS or equivalent technical knowledge.
  •  Extensive experience in engineering or applications support, preferably with Intel Architecture CPUs, boards or systems.
  • Deep technical background with hardware platform/silicon/board level or software BIOS/firmware/OS level.
  • Experienced in Linux and Android based operating system is a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer vision, AR/VR, Robotics, Home Peripherals and Drone products desired.
  • Sales, marketing or other deep customer experience.
  •  Strong written and oral communication skills are required, including the ability to effectively present in front of a large audience.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are needed in order to prioritize tasks in a very interrupt driven environment.
  •  Good relationship building skills are necessary, including the ability to build a rapport and communicate effectively with all levels of Intel and the customer.
  •  Candidate needs to be able to integrate technical, business, market and environmental conditions into a compelling solution that meets the needs of Intel and the customer.

This is a commissioned sales position. Responsible for managing the relationship between Intel and customers by establishing and cultivating relationships with key individuals at accounts. Develop relationships with distributors and engage distributor resources in support of assigned accounts. Identify and develop new opportunities within assigned accounts. Ensure that goals are consistent with Intel's strategic direction of: 1 maximizing the business with assigned accounts over the short and long term and 2 increasing the preference for Intel architectures among assigned customers. Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned annual billings and design win quotas in conjunction with the Field Applications Engineer. Communicate strategies to appropriate field and factory personnel to obtain required support and coordination. Develop a clear understanding of Intel's business practices including pricing, forecasting, terms and conditions, distribution and code of ethics.
