Job Description: As the VP of Design Engineering, you will lead the development of state of the art FPGAs including associated IP and Software development in PSG’s Penang. The successful candidate will: plan, provide resources for and direct activities in hardware and software Engineering functions to meet schedules, standards, and cost; cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors; identify and analyze problems, plans, tasks, and solutions; establish and oversee standards of excellence for group performance; provide guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues; use judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices. Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause significant impact across multiple PSG and Intel organizations and products. 

The team is primarily located in Penang, Malaysia and works closely with teams in San Jose and Austin, USA and Toronto, Canada.

Qualifications

BSEE with 20+ years of experience. Advanced degrees (MSEE, MBA) are a plus. Experience in all aspects of hardware design, including: requirements and specification management, RTL design, modern verification methodologies, DFT, SoC implementation (place and route implementation), emulation, and post silicon validation. Experience in hard IP engineering, analog, and logic design desired; experience in managing software and IP development a strong plus. Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder management, communication skills. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing a large (200+ person) organization with evidence of ability to manage a larger (400+ person) team. Able to manage a variety of complex functions and teams supporting a diverse FPGA product portfolio that span a wide range of markets from communications, embedded technology, industrial uses to data center servers, automotive and military applications. Role-models sound judgment in planning and decision-making. 

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead the next wave of growth in PSG’s Design Engineering team in Penang. This leader will drive design development and innovation activities at the site, reporting to the VP/GM of PSG Engineering. Responsibilities include:

·         Managing all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes in alignment with PSG Engineering direction and commitments

·         Developing the organization for sustained growth, and developing people for technical leadership and strong managers

·         Process improvement to improve efficiencies, in line with PSG Engineering goals for productivity & cost

·         Improved product/IP offerings to ensure competitiveness

·         Actively engaging with the leadership team to solve on-going product/IP execution and organization challenges

·         Proactively managing stakeholders in the product/IP development process with clear decision making and crisp communication to ensure the organization meets committed budget and plans.

·         Role modeling the PSG One Engineering mindset and culture of working seamlessly with technology, product and test engineering teams

·         Actively collaborating with PSG Engineering Staff, team members and other Intel groups in PEG, TMG, DCG and IoTG

·         Developing and implementing the Penang Site Strategy aligned with overall PSG Engineering strategy

·         Significantly contributing to overall PSG Engineering and business strategies

·         Influencing peers across planning / engineering / marketing to drive major initiatives in the interest of the overall business

·         Be an effective ambassador for PSG/Intel as member of the overall PSG Engineering Leadership team.
