Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Validation Engineering (MVE) is a PEG organization that is responsible for backend manufacturing of SOC, Chipset, Server, and Client products. We are looking for a dynamic Chief Engineer who will be highly empowered to drive backend manufacturing execution of SOC, in Devices Validation and Manufacturing (DVM), under MVE. As the single voice of DVM for a given product, the Chief Engineer interfaces with multiple horizontal teams to lead them in execution, drive technical decision making, ensure project level customer interests are met, and communicate status and issues as appropriate both internally within MVE and externally across all teams working on a product. External partners and customers may include Marketing, Design, Validation, FSM, and ATM among others. As the key individual responsible for stakeholder management, the Chief Engineer has a strong understanding of the customer and customer environment. Specific duties of the Chief Engineer Include: Driving/making real-time decisions that span backend manufacturing from pre-si through post-si activities and involving trade-offs across all relevant horizontal teams Making informed risk decisions on PHI targets that drive trade-offs among various metrics while supporting overall cost and factory capacity limits Driving technical decisions regarding product features with Marketing to ensure production and manufacturing worthy product lines Leading critical product manufacturing debug teams to quickly address internal and customer issues Serving as a single voice to fab/TD on yield related issues Driving product technical requirements into horizontals



Qualifications
Job Description Summary Technical savvy in a breadth of backend manufacturing engineering disciplines. Strong experience driving cross-organizational issues/projects to resolution, ability to work well in cross-organizational and cross-functional teams as a leader or team member Discipline, attention to detail, organizational skills, program/project management, and ability to influence at all levels of an organization Knowledge of Lean practices with specific experience in Agile Software Development Engineering Degree in electrical, micro-electronics or computer science preferred. Post-graduate work in business or engineering is a plus.
