If this describes you, our Client Signal Integrity team may be a great fit! The team consists of junior grade engineers up to principal engineers who are deep technical experts in the areas of IO/signaling, electromagnetics, and statistics. A couple of our principal engineers have written a text book that is used by a number of universities, yet they are also down-to-earth and approachable. We "get" Maxwell's equations -- but we also have a lot of fun!!Intel's Client Computing Group (CCG) is seeking a self-motivated engineer who has strong technical background in system-level electrical analysis and design to join our Client Signal Integrity (CSI) team. The team's scope of work covers all of Intel's next generation (10nm, 7nm, and beyond) client high-volume SoC products (~280M units per year) such as phablets/tablets, 2-in-1s, laptops, desktops, and gaming computers. The work site is Hillsboro, Oregon. The grade level may be adjusted +/- 1 based on qualifications. ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you are responsible for signal integrity (SI) solutions for client platforms. Specific responsibilities will include items like the following:(1) Work in close partnership with IO & PLL circuit IP teams, SoC analog circuit teams, platform design teams to define SI solutions for the silicon, IC packaging, and motherboard. This includes all platform interfaces: memory (LPDDR3/4/5, DDR4/5), PCIe (Gen 3/4, 8/16 Gbps), Thunderbolt (20 Gbps), Display IOs (HDMI, DP, MIPI), USB 2/3/3.1 (10 Gbps), storage interfaces (SATA, eMMC, UFS), etc.(2) Provide technical guidance to circuit/package/board designs to optimize system performance.(3) Deliver design collaterals to internal and external customers to enable product development. (4) Work closely with validation teams to create test plans, review results, and correlate to predicted behaviors.(5) Work with OEM/ODM customers on design reviews and co-engineering efforts with key customers (Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc.).


Qualifications

Qualifications(1) BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.(2) 1+ years of work experience in circuit design, electrical validation, signal and power integrity, IC packaging and board design, or other related fields.(3) Strong organization and communication skills, self-motivated.(4) Strong problem solving skills: identifying, isolating, and debugging issues and providing creative solutions. Additional Valuable Skills(1) Experience designing IO circuits, PLLs, DLLs, voltage regulators, or other analog/mixed-signal circuits.(2) Experience with circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools: SPICE, Ansys tools (HFSS, Q2D, Q3D), Cadence tools (Allegro, Power SI), etc.(3) Experience performing post-silicon validation: EV, SV, CMV, HVM tester, bin splits.(4) Experience with high-speed signaling measurement tools and techniques: spectral analyzer, oscilloscope, TDR, VNA, BERT.(5) Experience with statistical analysis tools and techniques: DOE, JMP, etc.
