Job Description Job Description: If you're interested in computer graphics and working with leading graphics software engineers on Intel's latest GPU/CPU architecture, then our Visual and Parallel Computing Group (VPG) has opportunities for you. VPG delivers Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and Parallel Computing Technology. The Product Architect (PA) provides the technical leadership of Processor Graphics IP product definition. The personworks in partnership with a Program Manager (PM) to drive the technical readiness (TR) process of product definition. This includes coalescing and communicating the program's tenets, vision, priorities, constraints and resulting architectural direction. They must sort through the many feature proposals and categorize, assess, prioritize. Additionally the PA is responsible for global definitional aspects such as defining the SKU offerings (configs), yield recovery, bandwidth demand, and other globals aspects. In terms of feature approval, making good tradeoffs requires the PA to understand the technical aspects of each feature, question the claims being made in terms of ROI, and ensure the feature specification is complete of sufficient quality. As such the PA should be skilled in aspects of performance simulation, power estimation, workload characterization, gate count estimates, and scope assessment. The PA must constantly consider program variables such as schedule, risk, effort, and cost, and deliver a product definition which comes within these bounds while meeting feature performance requirements. A key aspect is performance, power and area efficiency, and the products competitive position which the PA must assess against best of breed completion. After TR, the Product Architect continues to be the single point of contact for definitional issues, performance power projections, as the program passes through design, validation, and product qualification. The Product Architect is the primary technical point of contact for the specific graphics IP, for both management and SoC integration teams, and as such, must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Especially important is the ability to formulate and deliver communications of complex technical topics, directions, and decisions at the appropriate level of abstraction for management, business units, customers, and various technical forums. Additionally, as a definitional leader, the Product Architect should be comfortable and skilled in leading a matrixed organizational structure of senior-level architects and design engineers, and must have excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Ensures platform and its components have the best performance and power balance specifically focusing on graphics hardware components. Research and development of next generation platform designs to continually improve the performance. Conducts system analysis on proprietary and competition p
