Job Description Support the Global Trade organization to ensure export of goods, technology and services complies with applicable government laws and regulations. Responsibilities include determining jurisdiction and classification of goods, technology and services; securing export authorizations; managing the completion or retention of required documentation. Define and implement compliance plans and programs to support business initiatives. This Trade Specialist will: - Establish relationships with business leaders and stakeholders as necessary to support the company's business plans while ensuring compliance with export regulations. - Determine the jurisdiction and classification for a range of products, technology, software and technical services/support. This includes differentiation between what is defense/munitions from dual-use/commercial trade activities. - Partner with customers and suppliers as needed to determine the export compliance requirements of third party technical data and software. - Educate and guide internal customers on information requirements for license and agreement applications. - Develop and submit TAAs and/or other licenses to appropriate regulatory agency. - Draft, implement and manage Technology Control Plans. - Provide advice and guidance on day-to-day compliance matters regarding export compliance. - Develop and conduct export compliance training as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: - BA or MBA (preferred) - or a combination of education and experience. - 7+ years in Trade Compliance (at a minimum, shall include EAR and ITAR) - 7+ years of experience using D-Trade and managing TAAs, exemptions/exceptions and other kinds of trade authorizations The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications or skills: - Experience as an Empowered Official - In-depth knowledge of US defense trade regulations (ITAR) [experience with non-US defense trade regulations is a plus] - Experience making export jurisdiction and classification assessments for services, software, technology and products. - Ability to work in highly dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environments. - Ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-department and global environment. - Strong Program Management skills, communication, influencing strategies and interpersonal skills. - Ability to formulate and drive recommendations in a rapidly evolving environment.
