Prototype Lab Technician - Automotive Systems (f/m)

Job Description

The group, a fresh, dynamic collaboration between Intel's Intelligent Solutions Group and Wind River Systems, utilizes assets from across all of Intel in such areas as industrial automation, retail, automobiles and aerospace.

The IOTG team is dedicated to helping Intel drive the next major growth inflection through productivity and new business models that are emerging as a result of IoT.

As a Prototype Lab Technician- Automotive Systems, you will setup automotive systems to include integration and configuration of hardware and software. Solder small components and wires to motherboards to rework systems during setup as required. Proficient with soldering tools and Lab equipment: Scopes,DVM's,Fineplacer/Reworkstadion etc 

Responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as testing, debugging, modifications of electro-mechanical systems, and specialized test suites. Some travel to customer/supplier site for upgrade and rework. Support Product Development Engineer activities (Documentation, component handling).

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • System assembly and setup knowledge required, updating and installing of BIOS, FW and drivers required. 
  • Ability to configure different OS preferred: Windows, Linux. 
  • Support TSD internal and external departments 
  • Will to develop communication and presentation skills to train internal and external engineers.
  • Ability to read schematics and identify components on the motherboard is required. Soldering skills with fine pitch components is desirable. 
  • Measurement techniques are desirable. Usage of Microsoft Office, in particular good working knowledge of Excel for data processing is required. 

Qualifications:

  • You should possess a Technical degree in electrical/electronic systems or equivalent experience. 
  • Relevant experience in board rework/maintenance 
  • Relevant years experience in working with Windows Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Good analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Interpersonal skills: Good written, presentation, and communication skills in English
